The Bad Batch enter the final phase of their deadly mission! They are on the hunt for bounty hunter Aurra Sing before she can take out a secret Republic agent embedded inside the Separatist military! Can they save him? Can they recover the list from Aurra Sing? Or will the Republic’s military intelligence be crippled beyond repair?

The final issue of this mini-series has the Bad Batch back in action against both the droid army and Aurra Sing while trying to rescue a Republic agent. The Republic agent himself is not a particularly interesting character, but I suppose he doesn’t have to be, he’s more of a MacGuffin than a fully fleshed out character. I think he’s the weakest part of the story here.

In contrast, the action is the highlight of the comic, as has been the case for the duration of this mini-series. Hannigan, D’Amico and Atiyeh do a great job of highlighting the action and movement of the fighting, using motion lines to draw the readers’ eyes to a specific spot in the panel. However, at the same time, the action feels condensed and causes the pacing of the story to feel unnatural. That being said, the comic achieves what it set out to do: tell a story that fits into the vibe of The Bad Batch animated series while taking place during the Clone Wars. They also leave the door open for potential sequels and future missions to be chronicled.

All in all, the series feels unremarkable aside from the art, but it doesn’t really need to be anything special. This series is for kids and for fans of Star Wars: The Batch who wanted more of the team, and as that it more than delivered. If they were to do a sequel mini-series, I’d definitely be interested it reading it.
